(Journal Entry)
I’m sitting in church and feel such joy that we can sing again! Haven’t sung since we were able to return to church in, I believe, August. We’ve had church at home since March because of COVID. What a blessing it is to sing hymns of praise together.
As we sang the Sacrament song, I thought of this sacred ordinance, and this thought came:
The sacrament is a time of renewal. It is a time of reflection and change. Before I partake of the bread and water, I look for areas in my life that need to change. Renew those areas during the sacrament and throughout the week.
To walk humbly with God, we must choose Him and turn away from iniquity.

I'm including a song that brings me peace. Here are the lyrics and a video of the song being sung. :)
Words and music by Stephen P. Schank
Verse 1
Jesus walked in wisdom; Jesus grew in truth.
He showed love to God and man while in His youth.
Jesus wants to guide me. Jesus shows the way,
Calling me to come and walk with Him each day.
Verse 2
I can grow like Jesus. I will try each day—
Promising to walk His path and there to stay.
Standing by my Savior, safe within His care,
Step by step I’ll follow, and His love I’ll share.
Verse 3
I will trust in Jesus. I will hear His call.
He will never leave me, even when I fall.
Jesus gives me power, lifts and comforts me,
Helping me to live and grow eternally.
Chorus:
As I walk with Jesus to my home above,
He will bless me with His Spirit and fill me with His love,
Change my heart forever and help me clearly see.
I will walk with Jesus, and He will walk with me.
As I reflect on the joy of singing hymns again, I am reminded of how worship connects us not only to God but also to one another. Music has a unique way of lifting our spirits, grounding us in faith, and drawing our hearts closer to the Savior. The words of I Will Walk with Jesus resonate deeply, offering a simple yet profound truth: that walking with Him transforms our lives and opens our hearts to His eternal love.
The sacrament, too, is a sacred act of transformation. As I pondered its significance, I felt a renewed commitment to let this ordinance guide me. It is a weekly reminder that change is not only possible but essential. Each time we partake, we are invited to reflect, renew, and recommit ourselves to walking with the Savior more faithfully. It’s a call to identify the areas in our lives that need His healing touch and to invite Him to walk with us as we strive to change.
Walking with Jesus is not just a destination but a daily journey—a choice to follow Him step by step. Whether we are facing trials or celebrating victories, He is there to guide, comfort, and strengthen us. His love is constant, even when we stumble. This love inspires me to keep moving forward, trusting in His grace and striving to be more like Him every day. Singing hymns like I Will Walk with Jesus reaffirms my commitment and fills my soul with peace, reminding me that I am never alone on this journey.
