Perspective Changes the Way We See the World

Sorrow and Joy

If a picture is worth a thousand words, I hope this helps open your eyes to how you see things.

In my novel, Passing Through Sorrow, Book One of the Fight For Freedom Series, Killian St. John's grandmother, Mary St. John, makes a statement that I use as a quote at the front of the book. Today, I will share it with you from two different points of view using pictures.

Here's the quote as read at the front of the book:

You can’t appreciate joy unless you’ve passed through sorrow.

You can’t understand pleasure unless you’ve experienced pain.

You can’t love the light unless you’ve lived in darkness.

And you can’t recognize good unless you’ve survived evil.

“Gram” Mary St. John

Now let's add the pictures and see it from one perception:

Ponder how you felt when you saw those photos with the words. What emotions do you focus on?

Now, let's look at it from another perspective....

Now, how do you feel?

Do you feel lighter?

Often, light seems so far away when we are in the darkness. But if we shift our perspective a little and look at things from another point of view, we can change how we feel about our situation. I use Jesus Christ, His teachings, doTERRA essential oils, and Tiffany Garvin's Vibrational Release Technique to help me shift my mood. No matter where you turn, it's important to remember that you are not alone. Please reach out for help if your life seems to fit the first set of photos instead of the last.

Remember, you are not alone.
