Following Christ’s Example of Integrity This Easter

christian living faith in christ holidays Apr 17, 2022

Easter is a celebration of Jesus Christ’s triumph over sin and death, but it also reminds us of His perfect example of integrity. Throughout His life, Christ exemplified unwavering honesty, faithfulness, and alignment between His actions and principles. From His teachings to His ultimate sacrifice, Christ’s integrity was evident in every decision He made.

As we reflect on His life and resurrection this Easter, we are reminded of the importance of integrity in our own lives. To follow Christ is to strive for a life of authenticity and commitment to truth—no matter the challenges we face.

Christ’s Integrity: A Perfect Example

  1. In His Words: Jesus consistently taught the truth, even when it was unpopular. He spoke with authority and honesty, revealing the path to eternal life (John 14:6).
  2. In His Actions: Christ’s actions always matched His words. He didn’t just preach about love—He healed, served, and sacrificed for others (Matthew 20:28).
  3. In His Sacrifice: The ultimate display of Christ’s integrity was His willingness to fulfill God’s plan, even at the cost of unimaginable suffering in Gethsemane and on the cross. His sacrifice showed His commitment to the truth of God’s love for humanity (John 3:16).

Easter invites us to reflect on Christ’s example and ask ourselves:

Are we living lives of integrity?

Integrity means aligning our thoughts, words, and actions with our core values, even when it’s difficult. It’s about being honest with ourselves and others, standing firm in our beliefs, and choosing what’s right over what’s easy.

By following Christ’s example, we honor His sacrifice and become better disciples. Living with integrity also strengthens our relationships, builds trust, and helps us grow spiritually.

Five Action Steps to Strengthen Integrity

  1. Evaluate Your Values: Spend time identifying your core beliefs and values. Reflect on how your daily actions align with these principles. Are there areas where you need to improve?
  2. Be Honest in All Things: Commit to being truthful in your words and actions. Avoid exaggerations, half-truths, or dishonesty, even in small matters.
  3. Keep Your Promises: Follow through on your commitments. Whether it’s a promise to a friend, family member, or yourself, honor your word.
  4. Seek Accountability: Surround yourself with people who encourage integrity. Share your goals and struggles with trusted friends or mentors who will hold you accountable.
  5. Learn from Christ’s Example: Study the life of Jesus in the scriptures. Look for ways He demonstrated integrity and apply those lessons in your own life.

Integrity isn’t just about avoiding wrongdoing—it’s about actively choosing righteousness and standing firm in the truth. This Easter, as we celebrate Christ’s resurrection, let us recommit to living lives that reflect His example. Integrity isn’t always easy, but it’s a choice that brings peace, builds character, and honors the Savior who gave His all for us.

Through Christ’s grace, we can strengthen our integrity and become more like Him. Let His perfect example inspire us this Easter season and beyond.

“He is risen.” Let’s rise with Him by living lives of integrity.
