Things, negative or positive, tend to cycle around. If we don’t like a cycle—change it.
What do I want?
- People to find value in what I have to offer and what I say
- To help people and to better listen to them
We always require action.
- Faith and Trust are VERBS
- Obedience is an action
- Repentance is an action
- Reflection and Pondering are actions
When someone finds value in what I share, what do I want them to do?
- Pause
- Ponder
- Pray
- Prepare
- Persist
This is the expectation I have for myself and hope for others.
Here’s the cycle:
(End Journal Entry)
We are all part of cycles—some we consciously create, and others that seem to repeat without our permission. Whether positive or negative, cycles shape our lives, and we have the power to influence them.
Faith and trust are not passive concepts; they are verbs. These require deliberate actions, just like obedience, repentance, and even pondering. Change starts when we acknowledge that we are not helpless passengers in our own lives but active participants.
The steps I outlined—Pause, Ponder, Pray, Prepare, Persist—are not only actions I aim to live by but also the path I hope to inspire in others. It begins with reflection: pausing to recognize where you are and pondering what needs to change. Then comes prayer for guidance and strength, followed by preparation to act on what you’ve learned. Finally, persistence ensures that new cycles take root and grow into lasting patterns.
Breaking a negative cycle is challenging, but it’s also empowering. Each small action moves you closer to a better outcome. What cycle in your life would you like to change today?
